Original Source: Justin - A spin off of Blake's Famous Soup.

Servings: 20

Serving Size: 1 c.

Description: ✅ Tested and true for the tastebuds. A hearty, slightly creamy chicken noodle soup that brings more flavor.

Requires a 8+ Quart pot. Otherwise, it will overflow!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 thick chicken breasts (about 2 lbs)
  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 4 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 whole yellow onion
  • 1 tsp Parsley
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic salt
  • 12 c. chicken broth (12 c. water / 8 tsp Knorr's chicken bullion)
  • 2 pkgs Reams Frozen Homestyle Noodles
  • 1 c. half and half (Adjust for taste)

Optional

  • For a little heat: Creole Seasoning (I recommend about 1 tsp)

Instructions

  1. Add oil to pot, and heat up to medium heat.
  2. Add and cook the chicken in the pot until golden.
  3. Add and cook the onions, carrots and celery till just under tender.
  4. Add seasonings, cook for additional minute, or until fragrant.
  5. Add broth to pot and bring to boil.
  6. Add noodles and cook the noodles until tender, about 20 minutes.
  7. After noodles are cooked, take off heat. Add half and half and stir.
  8. If adding creole seasoning, add to taste and stir.
  9. Let it sit for about 5 - 10 minutes. This allows the flavors to mingle a little longer.
  10. Serve while hot!
