Classic Lasagna

Description: Found on the Google Drive. Honestly, is a simple great recipe to have while camping.


Ingredients

  • 1 box of lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground italian sausage (or hamburger)
  • ¼ c. yellow onion, diced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • Some sugar
  • Some basil
  • 2 c. cottage cheese (or ricotta)
  • 1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese (divided) between the cheese mixture & top layer
  • Parsley flakes

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook pasta to desired tenderness. In separate pan, cook sausage & onion together. When meat is cooked through, drain excess fat. Add tomato sauce, then add sugar & basil.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the cottage cheese & mozzarella cheese til well balanced. Then add parsley to the cheese mixture.
  3. To layer: grease a 9×13 baking dish, coat with some sauce, add noodles across, then cheese mixture, then more sauce. Repeat. Final top of noodles will have remaining sauce & mozzarella cheese. Bake in 350°F oven for 30 minutes, or until cheese has melted & browned a little.
