Baked Steak

Description: "A family favorite that's almost too good to be true!" Even though saying the name of this dish is a sin in the sight of the Grilling Gods, this is really amazing to taste. This dish keeps the steak juicy and delicious to enjoy.
Ingredients
Steaks
- 6 petite sirloin steaks2
- 3 Tbsp butter, melted
- ½ c. bottled chili sauce
- ½ c. chili garlic sauce3
- 3 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
- ½ c. white onion, chopped
Mushroom Sauce
- 1 lb. Mushrooms, washed, trimmed, and sliced.4
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ c. Bottled chili sauce
- 1 c. heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Turn on the oven to broil on high heat, and broil steak until seared on both sides.
- Combine the butter, chili sauces, Worcestershire, and onion.
- Pour mixture over steak and bake uncovered at 400° for about 25 minutes.5
- While steak is baking, sauté the mushroom in butter for 2 minutes, until lightly browned.
- Add the Worcestershire, chili sauce and cream.
- Cook mushroom sauce over medium heat until lightly thickened, about 15 minutes.
- After baking, let the steak stand for 2 minutes.
- Serve with Mushroom Sauce.6

You can also substitute for a singular 3" thick boneless sirloin steak, weighing about 3 - 4 lbs. ↩

While the original recipe says 30 minutes, we need to adjust due to altitude. The recipe was created in Texas, closer to sea level at 630'. At the time of this writing, we're at 4,705', so a little higher :) ↩
