Ingredients

  • 12 count King's Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • @frac12; tsp each of salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp each of garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 6 Pepper jack cheese slices
  • @frac12; cup shredded colby jack cheese
  • Crispy fried onions
  • 6 pieces of bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Cook your bacon however you prefer — we like baking it at 400°F on a parchment-lined sheet pan for about 25 minutes until crispy. Set aside.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Drain the grease, then stir in the minced garlic and BBQ sauce.
  3. Grease a baking dish or sheet pan and lay down the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls.
  4. Layer on the pepper jack cheese, then the beef mixture. Top with shredded colby jack, crumbled bacon, and crispy fried onions. Add a little extra BBQ sauce if you're feeling it.
  5. Cap with the top buns, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake at 350°F for 10–15 minutes until golden. Dig in!
